Hey My car did not come with side skirts and looks a but ho hum without them. Does anyone know who does Aftermarket ones for the 5dr Sportback A3 8V 2014? The ones on ebay are terrible and cannot find any second hand ones either. I know I will have to paint them, but I have someone who can do this for cheapish, I will prep them myself.
@CanadaA3wales , have you done any of the mods you've been mentioning over the past months yet? The RS3 bumper/grill, remap, bulbs, diffuser, side skirts, wing mirror covers, alloy refurb/colour change, exhaust tips, black badges? I'd love to see some photos of how it's looking currently with all the changes. Side skirts Theres loads of used genuine ones on eBay, I'd go down the genuine route as there such availability and just get the fitting strips from a dealer https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2012-201...981457?hash=item548e058d91:g:FJIAAOSwSBpfnAvI Reiger are a bit drastic imo, but you may like that kinda thing.
Yeah as long as they fit the 5dr sportback 2014 But cannot find a set, only single one side, also some on ebay look in really rough condition
Again lots of damage, its a joke they want £70.00 for that, and its only a single side. I am buying the diff and grill at the end of the month, got a nice xmas bonus Remap is on the 3rd of december - Booked in and deposit paid Wing mirror cover, I am not sure I want to go down this route, undicided. Alloy refurb and colour was done when I bought the car. Exhaust tips already bought from Audi for £60.00 for the 2 Black badges done already, but not the front as need the grill Bulbs I only said I bought them yesterday so unsure how I can show you today All the stuff I have asked about I have bought, except the grill and diff, I want them on before I take full pics.
Picture of my alloys You can just see the tips, on the tip lol Oh got some Heko wind deflectors as I vape and water comes through the window
I am not sure about carbon, too many chavs put on cheap carbon cr@p and its kind of ruined it for the genuine equipment and installers. I am thinking gloss black, but that will probably be the last mod I do as its not urgent and they are in great condition
Technically yes, but if you watch eBay occasionally they come up as a sale price..I paid £89 for mine, brand new for the pair.
Oh well if I can get them for that price and are genuine carbon then I have no problem buying them. How do you get large pictures like that on here?
Just take a large/hi res picture (thats just an Iphone SE photo), and then use the 'upload an image' button bottom of this box, on the left, then insert as full image.
Yeah I do that and everytime I do it says the image is too large also it only includes the image as a thumnail on the bottom. It never allows me to do a full image like yours
Yeah photobucket started wanting a subscription fee. So i just use that site now. Not ideal but at least it is free
I think some Eibach Pro springs would work really well on yours. With the small wheels, big tyres, you wont lose much ride comfort at all and it will go round corners without throwing you out of your seat. Best decision I ever made was moving to Koni Special Actives and Eibachs, but the Eibachs on their own with OEM struts was really good.
See this is where I am stuck. I love the ride and it handles great, but would love bigger wheels, but if I do I will be looking at around £1200.00 for rims and tyres which I dont really see the point. Lowering the car would be quite cheap as well wouldnt it? My struts are in great cond, but I have been thinking about lowering it.
These ones are in better shape: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A3-...enger-Driver-side-Set-Left-Right/333507020486
My Eibachs cost me £139 from AutoDoc and my local garage fitted them for £130. The A3 comfortably runs 18's, 19's is possible, but dont expect the ride to be anywhere near as nice as you have it now. You could get some genuine S3 18's for around £600-700. I have a set of replica 18" V-spokes from LD Prestige (like those in my profile just an inch smaller) that Ill be selling soon for £400 that are pretty much untouched. Put tyres on those, Avons, around £700 all in.
I will probably leave the wheels for now as I just put 4 brand new Primacy 4's on which cost me £375.00 so dont want to waste those tyres Can I just buy any Eibachs, are they all lowered the same amount. I have never lowered a vehicle before Can I lower a vehicle now on my 16's and then buy 18's later and will they fit ok?
Eibach Pro's are basically 10mm lower than S-Line springs, so they will be fine on your 16's, will be fine with 18's at a later day, they are also fine with 19's as you can see from my photo. You can also get Eibach Sportlines, which are 30mm lower than S-Line springs, so 20mm lower than what you see in my photo. Thats a pretty drastic drop imo, and you will definitely lose some ride quality as the strut has lost a huge amount of travel.
10mm? Thats only 1cm, are you sure thats right, thats not really anything. I am driving a sports model so dont know the ride height on that
Yes you're right, Sport is 15mm lower than SE, S-Line is 25mm lower than SE, so Eibachs will be 35-40mmmm lower than SE, 25-30mmmm lower than Sport. I forgot the SE, I thought the Sport was the base model. My bad.
So you reckon the 10mm will be more than enough? I do not want it bagged, maybe 5-10mm above the top of the tyre
I look pretty much every day on ebay for sideskirts. very rare to find a set from a sportback in decent nick, also the plastic mounting bracket that goes between the sill and skirt are like gold dust. After lockdown i may ask Audi how much for new mounting brackets and skirts. But i would expect to be circa £500-600 at a guess
