Looking at buying an a4 but what spec

Hey. I've currently got a a3 sport back 2.0 tdi which I will be prt exing soon for an a4. I was just wondering if there is any particular engines to avoid like the pd engines and which extras are a necessity in the car. I've already decided on hands free and cruise control.
Any other good extras I should look out for?

try to avoid the pd 170 engine the injectors die easily ,blue smoke on idle/gear change .

common rail are ok but try to buy one after sept 2009 manufacture as they have the same oil pump problem as the 170 pd engine if not .

I bought an A4 black edition tdi 143 couple of weeks ago. I'd highly recommend one. Good styling, nice interior, good standard spec list, decent engine.
