You hit a high kerb....

I’ve also done this at a petrol station, caught my alloy on the kerb around the pump. A lot of these also also a steel edging around them, which cut the tire.

I’ve also had a pothole do something very similar.

tyre "pitched" between kerb / obstacle and alloy....Ouch, new tyre and alloy refurb...nightmare mate :-(
