Bought a silicone TIP on monday from creationmotorsport in birmingham and finally got the local garage to fit it for me yesterday morning however, I think they've fitted the N75 & boost pipes in the wrong places as well as leaving two empty holes in the TIP where some pipe work should go :3sadwalk:

Been going mad because I think the car is overboosting and then limps at 3/4k rpm as n75 is not correctly connected. Can someone please help me out if I upload the pics. I feel so crap and I don't know why I let such idiots work on my car!

Upload a pic and i'll tell you if its fitted incorrectly.
Does indeed sound like you're hitting positive deviation limp, probably due to an incorrectly fitted n75.

My tip had a hole to many so I had to blank it off.

(im pretty sure the little pipe as you can see to the right of the TIP is from the actuator on the turbo?)

If someone could post close up pics of their TIP installed or help me with the right connections, I'd be very grateful

Engine code is AMK

The pipe connected to the right hand side of the n75 (jubilee clipped) should be connected to the black plastic piece that's in the tip (looks like its been cut down though).
The small pipe from the turbo you have in your hand needs to be connected to the n75. If you remove the pipe that is jubilee clipped to the n75, you should be left with a short plastic pipe and a long plastic pipe on the n75. The longer pipe sits in the spare hole in the tip and the pipe from the turbo actuator goes on the smaller tab on the n75. It does however look like someone may have cut down the longer plastic pipe on the n75 for reasons unknown, try and identify if its been cut down as that would identify it being the longer one.

I hope that makes sense. I've never seen a garage fit something with such incompetence.

Thanks Benjamin for your help. I'm going to try this in the next few minutes and see what happens.

Picture 3 shows a pipe into the TIP. This is where I pressume the part which broke should have gone right? BTW rang Audi and they said I would have to wait 14 days for that little part so I bodged it as you can see for the time being.

This is what I've done

Can someone please please tell me if this is right or explain to me in the simplest way possible as I getting really annoyed now! I went back to the b@stard garage and they said that the guy who worked on my car isn't there today and should be back monday  what a **** up :(

Looks like you may have 2 pipes the wrong way round, tricky to see as someone's been in there chopping things around.
swap the pipe that goes to the turbo actuator with the side that's sits in the tip. That should see you right. Faults may need erasing after you've got it correctly plumbed in.

What does it matter if the same guys in? Surely the last thing you want's the muppet who made that poor attempt getting his hands back on it, even if he'd been in. I'd have wanted someone else doing it if I was in your shoes.

At least it sounds like you're on route to getting it sorted now. I guess it shows how some mechanics are just doing it as paint by numbers, and don't actually understand how what they're working on works. Gladly it's not all of them, but you've got to be careful, just because they're a 'pro' it doesn't mean they actually know anything.

Which garage was it out of interest, are they a specialist or just someone at a garage that said they would give it a go?

It comes to something when a garage can't even fit a ****** pipe properly, Jesus. It's only a 20 minute job!

Take it back out of principle, don't be fobbed off & definitely don't let the first idiot work on it again.

that's absolutely disgusting! Whoever fitted that hadn't got a clue, and if that unattached pipe in the first fwe pics was from the actuator, then they've left your car in a state that's VERY likely to blow it up very quickly!

Cannot believe a garage has let that go out like that. Massive lack of understanding of some very simple stuff.

Also, why is it so oily and dirty already? that's absolutely unacceptable for a garage to fit a brand new product and leave it in that condition.

morons. demand your money back, find someone on the forum who can fix it all for you!¬

wow, from those pictures am I right in thinking that the garage broke the return feed from the charcoal canister so plugged it into the N75 instead? leaving the broken end of the original connection still sitting in the TIP and then leaving the spare hoses for the N75 disconnected meaning the turbo was revving its nuts off!?..... go tell the garage they are a bunch of **** wits

I hope this can help you out. My paint skillz need work :p

And your N75 layout, Long piece in the tip, opposite side to the turbo actuator. the remaining nipple 90" is connected to your boost pipe.

i was going to get a local garage to fit a new tip to my s3 but i decided to take it over to badger 5 at least you know the work will get done properly over there after reading this i am glad i made the decision. hope you can get this sorted
