Anyone had a stage 1/2 remap with Litchfield on a 2015/2016 rs3 are they any good? what sort of figures did you get? they seem to be pretty cheap compared to others?

    thanks

Not sure about your specific question, but I think they are very well regarded in tuning circles..

I was almost certain that I would be using Litchfield when the time came to remapping based on their reputation in the jap scene and numerous magazine articles I have seen over the years. They have that kind of vanity appeal a bit like Mountune.

Once I had a bit of a deeper look it seems there may be better options VAG wise (MRC/Revo seem to be popular). They aren't specialists in this particular platform and there's a few examples on different forums that their mapping has been a bit suspect.

They're a massive company though and I have heard that the support and live data logging support they give (Coming from Focus RS owners) has been top notch so I can't image you will go far wrong if you do go with them.

No, go with a reputable VAG specialist tuner not a Jap one. VAG ECU’s are on a completely different stratosphere.

Would you take your R35 GTR to revo?

    Will say no more.

The only person I know with a tuned GTR would also make me not take one to Litchfield. As for Audis, stick with MRC or APR if you're further away/happy with a generic Stage 1. Revo in a pinch, maybe.

In that case, you should know that MRC use a generic tune just like the others.

They have to start from somewhere....

Don’t forget Doug will spend a good 2/3 hours with the individual car to suit the owners requirements.

Not on a stage 1 tune. More like 20 mins. I speak from experience!

Everyone I know that has used MRC has had a good few hours spent tailoring the Map to their car.

It’s what sets MRC above all the others that just upload a map with no tweaking or customisation.

Stage 2, sure. Honestly though, I don’t believe this to be the case for stage 1. Things could have changed. Regardless, they are still very good. I would have had them tune the TTRS as I was blown away by their work on the RS3, but their customer service left a lot to be desired and knowing the guys at Revo, decided to use them. No regrets. But I’d happily also use and recommend MRC.

Of course, you also get a run on the dyno with MRC which is always nice.

How do you find stage 1 with the TT? I can imagine it is a total savage.

Bonkers. It's a baby R8 and in fact, I'd be surprised if a standard R8 would get away...it would need to be the Plus.

Handling is also very good. Absolutely love the car. It's up for sale as I wouldn't mind a 911, but I'm in no rush and want what it's worth. It's absolutely immaculate having only ever been cleaned by the same professional detailer.

Have you run it on a dyno to check power output? Estimated at 480 ish on pump fuel is the average isn’t it?

I’ve only driven the TTRS once and it was mainly in traffic / motorway, little opportunity to put it to the test and didn’t feel noticeably quicker to the RS3 and that was before I had mine.

Driving a little Fiat 124 Spider in Lanzarote at the moment and it’s fantastic, first low down sports car experience I’ve had on the road I guess. Very small though for somebody 6ft, it’s an experience.. the TT is still quite high up in comparison, same pointy handling though.

I’ve not had it on the rollers but having had the map taken off temporarily at service time, I can say that it certainly feels 80bhp+. The difference is night and day.

There won’t be much between it and an RS3. A tenth or two quicker but nothing you’d really notice.
