Light malfunction message, no obvious malfunction.

2013 8V, halogen headlights. When I turn the headlights on, the message for light malfunction appears in the dash. However, all the bulbs on the car are working.

What might this be?

if you cant see any bulbs out then a scan with vcds should flag up the bulb causing the error.

Fair enough - I don't really want to spend £40 just to have someone plug in the diagnostic tool. I might as well replace all the bulbs for the same money.

Would Carista be able to do this? (I have no experience of this app)

ive never used Carista so i dont know its uses. There is perhaps a member near you with VCDS. There is a VCDS section in the forum with a list of people with the lead.

Maybe a loose wire or lamp? Have you checked for any water damage?

I’ve checked all the connections. The problem is intermittent.

I’ll track it down at some point...
