Is there a safe way to lift the car on grass/mud surface using a 2 tonne jack? Following that, using axle stands?

I'm not looking to get under the car, but to work on the lower sills. I fear there won't be enough resistance to lift the vehicle and indeed maintain stability.

Any thoughts/experiences?

Couple of large blocks of wood under the jacks/stands should work to spread the load, otherwise you’re likely to sink....

yep, I would double up with two but anything that can spread the load really

Paving stones? I have a few lying around.

If you've got some paving stones lying around how about stacking them gradually and drive the car up and onto them, that would be a much safer platform ?? That's what I do when I need to get under the car, but I use planks of wood :icon thumright:

Home-made ramps; nice idea. :)
