I've discovered a split in one of my vaccum hoses, the one which runs from the back of the bay down the left hand side of the engine and into the manifold (part no. 8L9 612 041 D). The split is just at the 90 degree elbow towards the top of the bay. My question is, is this a dealer only part, or would i be ok to just use some silicone hose with the correct internal id? I noticed the OEM part is quite rigid, more so than the silicone hosing i have, and wondered if this would be an issue?

Cheers!

hi
you can use any hose mate.
i used coolant hose i had at the time, that was a year ago.
think its 10mm off hand

Ideally a run like that needs to be rigid as it the servo vacuum... the correct ID silicon vacuum hose would collapse but you could use a proper layered type silicon hose.. 8mm ID iirc...

Wire reinforced is probably overkill but yeah... just double check the ID though as fairly sure its 8mm...
