Leaking Transfer box??

Hi guys I'm abit of a pain at the moment!!

has any one else experienced a leaking transfer box?

I was under mine on Sunday putting in a new dogmount and mine looks just the same oil all over it but just a very fine layer , I had a look over mine and could not see a starting point for the leak so im not 100% its coming from the transfer box

Yes! On my 1st 8L S3.

Turned out it was was my spare oil bottle stored down the side of the spare wheel ( opened but sealed in a freezer bag, or so I thought) that leaked and tracked straight down a cable on top of the Haldex.

Looked convincingly like a diff leak! And a lot cheaper to fix!

Haha I can imagine. This is at the front off the car tho next to the gearbox??

They are a sealed unit from Audi - no serviceable parts AFAIK.

So does that mean it's not that leaking if it's a sealed unit or that it's ****** ???

It means there are no serviceable parts to fix the leak.

snap me 2 . either transfer box or oil seal to prop , cant be ***** to have a look at mo either
