Audi found a leak on the gearbox thank god its just the sump.

1500 quid later including diagnostics and a service on the gearbox it should be fixed. Crazy money that. Wish I got rid a few months ago now

You'd think given the age they'd have offered up some.

Its just over 5 year old now the car it’s a 66 plate. Still not what you’d Expect from a premium car at that age.

Being premium and paying more money to purchase is no guarantee of reliability for any product..

If you remember a while back mine leaked everywhere. At the end it was a whole new gearbox. You don’t want to know what the bill would have been.

I think in general a4b9 have problems with gearbox leaking . I had it my brother had it we both replaced sump and i still can find some oil drops...

£1500 seems a lot!

I had a gearbox oil leak + gearbox errors (not shifting into P) - replaced the gearbox sump pan + new gasket + S tronic oil service.

It costed me about £650.

2 years later there is misting on the gearbox oil pan again around the seal. I’ve been told it’s a slight misting so it won’t cause a problem but it’s due the the sump being made of plastic mated to a metal gearbox. The expansion and contraction isn’t tolerated well.

I wish mine was only 650. Mine is being done at audi Newcastle

that includes gearbox service that I think is silly as the oil will be replaced anyways but its for the stamp in the book and also diagnostic fee of 157

£157 diag fee, damn I need to up my rates lol

It’s mental isn’t if.

I’ve literally just come across a specialist In Newcastle too. Sod’s law. Least I know for next time as my next car on my list has the dsg and I believe there virtually the same box

Got car back today and Have to say what a difference after the service on the box. Much faster changes zero lag and smooth as smooth can be. Can’t even feel the changes any more

That's what they told me at Audi Newcastle as well.
I've taken the car to another VAG specialist in Newcastle. Let's see how much they quote me to get it fixed (even if there is really a leak).
My mileage is at 50k miles.

Let me know what you get quoted. Have to say it’s the first big bill I’ve had. cars been solid. Just a few niggles now like bushes so car will be going soon. Not throwing 100s on it when it’s due to go next year

I have just been quoted around £600 quid odd if my car needed a complete new sump with transmissions oil change.

Jesus that’s not bad. What place did you go to ? I went to swift motor for my Cambelt. They were a good 400 cheaper for that.
