Me neither, thanks Sean... :jump:

A run in the RS3 up the M6 followed with an RS5 coupe and RS7 at Knowsley and then back to an RS3 for the homeward run back down the M6 are the order of the day for us... :kissmyrings:

And if there are no takers on the day I'll request an RSQ3 and/or S1, whatever...

Gotta say these guys must have one hell of a big cluster; how they hand you over the keys to a brand new RS7, RS6, and/or R8V10 Plus et al with a jaunty "have fun" defies ALL of my logic. I mean; I know what I'm like... :jump:

Had a great day today courtesy of Manchester Audi

First up the RS 6 Avant............

I have to say this car never fails to disappoint !!! Driven it twice now in as many months and the V8 twin turbo really is something to behold !!!!
It puts down all that power effortlessly and with no drama, the roads today were quite wet so good conditions for testing these quattro machines.

Next up the R8 V10.........

I thought after driving the RS 6 and then getting into this I'd be disappointed, but I strangely wasn't, on the road this thing has such a presence, everybody was staring at it and I had a few beeping their horns in appreciation.......
The noise that comes from this especially in sport mode was music to my ears, in the wet as at Silverstone earlier this year this machine just gripped and gripped !!!!

I must say Claire Furey and all the people associated with these events really do put on a fantastic day, good food and friendly people what else could you want.

Roll on the next one........:kissmyrings:

TWO Audi RS3 owners arrive at the Audi Sport Showcase event at Knowsley Hall; one wants to see how the Audi RS5 and RS7 compares with his RS3 while the other wants to start from a slightly lower base line, performance wise that is; and he arrives late, too :meeting:

TWO RS3 Owners P1000989

I chose the RS5 and RS7 wanting to run back to back the same engine with the RS5 naturally aspirated and the RS7 twin turbo-charged.

A steady run up the M6 in the RS3 and straight to Knowsley Hall; already impressed by the venue alone.

A wonderful greet from Claire Furey of Jardine Motors, and on her birthday too. Coffee and a bacon and/or sausage bap and John Vena (Liverpool Audi) took us out to a Suzuka Grey RS5 Coupe. Not expecting great things from this machine we took if for an hours run over an interesting route in extreme wet conditions that allowed us to explore some of the more aggressive characteristics of the vehicle; however, waiting for the torques to arrive from that naturally aspirated lump left me totally non impressed - and I feel just the same with the RS4 and R8 V10 Plus, naturally aspirated Audis just don't excite me. Nice car mind, but not for me.

Lunch with the most fabulous mini shepherds pie ever; had more than one.

Time came and John was escorting us to a Daytona Grey RS7, no explanations needed so we were left to our own devices. Straight away, and way before we exited the park, this was the animal that had my nerves tingling: gave it full beans on the wet cobbles at the exit gateway and the RS7 just accelerated with zero fuss, and so it went for the remainder of the journey; a fabulous motor car.

Back down the M6 with the RS3 and, after 3-years of ownership, I have to say that I remain very satisfied with this particular Audi.

Thanks to Manchester Audi and Jardine Motors for the invitation and a fabulous day.

Ha ha

Go easy on the Renault Master John !!

It has a mighty 160 bhp and loads of torque!

Let's say I was bitterly disappointed driving it back home.....

At least now I've got the TT back.

Nothing negative intended Sean; there are many things that 'Sport' machine can do that those cars we drove yesterday :jump: couldn't:

Like this one you were about to try:

Couldn't get any veneer in the back of that R8 or George for that matter.
