Knocking noise from rear on uneven ground??

On my s3, not had an arb link go before so don't know if the sound is right, but I have a knocking noise coming from the n/s/r corner, can push the car down at that corner and it'll knock slightly, don't really hear it so much on smooth roads, but driving down the lanes it's pretty annoying!! Especially as the rear seats are out so it's even noisier.

So is it most likely to be an arb link? It's not the exhaust or heatshield before anyone says as I've checked that.

Could also be rear top mounts

I didn't think they had top mounts as such? Not like the front anyway? Just rubber discs that go at the top and bottom of the spring... Or do you mean the shock mounts?

Broken tail on the spring, is the top bolt for the shock loose?

Not sure if the S3 has the same stone guard as the A3 on the rear trailing arm, but mine was broken and only made a noise over uneven ground.

Its not a broken spring, ill check the shock bolts tomorrow, good idea !
