So I got my new 8P2 A3 last week however when I bought it there was no battery in the key fob and the remote locking didn't work. I took it to my mechincal who reconnected it and vagcom or whatever he used was recognising the key and programming it however when the key is pressed it still wasn't working, he didn't charge me for it so I don't mind. It's just annoying having to unlock the door manually.

It works to turn the car open and lock/unlock the door.

Any help?

When you adapt remote with VCDS, first read and save adress 00 ( default settings ).

I think we've done all that. It recognised the key and said it was programmed and the hazards flashed like they should but when took out of the ignition it still didn't work.

You need to take the key & car to a Remote Key Specialist. There are quite a few independants popping up now. Google them in your area.

If it not works the way as i said, there is a few options there:
Inside a microswitch broken and make the remote a bit crazy, or battery just low as hell, or remote broken..... but without inspection i have only ideas.

Really the best way is to find a local specialist guy who will solve this for you with a quick fix or remote change.
