K03 ? K04 ? Noob question

Here we go then, head on the block time. Noob question, but whats the difference ? Which are standard on which cars ? I know there are probably lots of threads already on here discussing the two but I cant find one describing the differences.

ko3/ko3s - a3 and a3 quattro


ko4- all s3's

difference is they are completely different turbos! lol

Simple as that - for some reason I thought K03 turbos were on the earlier S3's. I have a 2003 S3, and in my opinion, most people on here doing mods or techy talking mostly drive earlier cars (ie, not the BAM engine) so Im never sure what the differences are. Im keen to learn more, but a mechanic I am not !

ahhh no well as i understand it the earlier s3's are only mapped differently, all s3's regardless of age remap to the same figure so anything that a older s3 can have put on it/modifed - yours can too
