They are meant to be temporary use and max speed restricted to 50mph. I would just drop an email to Audi or even better talk to Audi and get them to give you qualified advice.
The fact the wheels are being sent away, suggests they will remove the tyre, sand down the whole rim, use what ever tool is to give you the diamond cut finish.
On my wife's car, the tyre insurance folks, sent a mobile tech out to sort the rim. However it did take about 8 weeks for the nearest appointment...
