Facelift Juddering front wiper

Rubber deteriorates whether it’s used or not. I generally find wipers last about a year. You could try meticulously cleaning the wiper blades, screen and especially the area where the wipers sit when parked. I have used Autoglym Glass Cleaner for this (the cream type) and it does work....for a while. I think the judder is caused by differences in friction across the screen either due to deterioration of the blade or contamination of the screen (especially oil from road spray). Many people carefully clean the screen but forget the blades themselves and ignore the bottom of the screen where the blades sit parked. All that happens is they get contaminated again. The cream type cleaners are slightly abrasive which helps to shift grime that the spray type cleaners don’t seem to remove. I have had judder on many different car over the years and I am neurotic about it. Cleaning does work.
