Gorgeous looking car..l was really tempted to get this car in Sepang Blue with all the options, but my son said it wasnt a viable option to a have fully loaded S1 on a PCP deal...all the same l do think the S1 is he sportiest looking Audi apart from the RS cars...truely awesome looking in the yellow with contrasting black parts....Enjoy

Not sure what 'viable' is!? Mines on PCP. Because it is so stupid loaded it holds its value way higher than the PCP GFV so I'm always in positive equity.
I paid £1000 down and £530pcm over 4 years BTW.

Viable sorry l mean He said the S3 would be cheaper on a PCP because of its better residual value, l dont know why either,he's the salesman,l think the S1 was £34k and the S3 nearly £39k my S3 is £363

But that aside you have a cracking looking S1

Yea, £35k for my S1. But a spec'd out S3 is way over £40k, even over £45k from memory. It's a lot more on PCP per month, but if you tick boxes up to £39k on an S3 I can well believe that monthly it's similar/less than a fully loaded S1.
I'm likely jumping ship no the new RS3 tho!

Great reveiw and photos, more interesting and informative than most of the motoring journalists churn out.
Seriously cool looking car, perfect colour, I also like stuttgartrobs S1 in negaro blue, strong colours really suit the car. I ordered sepang blue, not quite as daring as you guys.

It's funny you saying about cabin rattles, mine was a creaking clutch pedal when it was depressed or released. It was intermittent so was really annoying. When I had a closer look the accelerator and brake pedal are metal but the clutch pedal is plastic. Bit worrying with all that use but a quick squirt of wd40 seems to have cured it. Saved a trip to the dealer lol.

It's a common fault, my clutch pedal squeaked for the first 2-3k miles and I know 2 or 3 other owners reporting the same. I'm approaching 5k and it hasn't done it for a while now - I didn't attempt any fix (not sure why as it was ****** annoying!!)

Yeah my 16 year old was ******* himself laughing. He kept reminding me how much I had paid for the car to have a squeaky pedal. Glad I sorted it lol

    Bumblebeast down!

So after just getting the bumper/door resprayed a few weeks ago, some plonker in a BMW rammed the back of the S1 whilst parked.
To be fair they did come and knock on my door and own up etc, so it's not going to cost me anything, but frustrating none the less!
No idea how he did it, I was parked in an end of some streetside parking with the rear to a driveway entrance, so he had no reason to be that close to my rear bumper as it wasn't a space, I didn't ask how he did it but I can only presume he pulled in behind me (so blocking the drive) with the intention of reversing into the space the other side of the driveway, but caught 1st not reverse. He must have given it some welly as it moved my car forward 6 inches!
It's only cosmetic damage, so have a quote for £192 all in to fix it.

Booked into the bodyshop Mon-Weds :)

But more excitingly, it's booked into Advanced In-Car for Monday 16th to have a new to market rear view (and maybe front view) camera fitted :)
I'm going to be the guinea pig fitment for them, but they have sent me images of the kit and it looks great - fully integrated/OEM style and quality boot handle mounted camera - plus the steering lines overlay what move with the steering wheel that you get on the bigger Audi's (and I miss from my SQ5).
Should be a nice addition which I have been searching for but only been able to find the £50 Chinese **** to date - this is the first German built after market retrofit option for the A1/S1 :)

How did your body shop get on with ordering the Vegas Yellow from Audi? The reason I'm asking is that I have a biggish stone chip on the offside front wing courtesy of a gritter truck hurling out boulders at night. I went to my Audi dealer to get a touch up pot and was told that, because it is such a new colour, Audi won't be doing any in the forsee able future. Not very happy.

Well they are pretty old school, so I'm guessing they mixed it on site... They didn't mention any trouble and I couldn't see any colour difference in various lights.

No, local shop that fixed it last time. They specialise in high end modern and classic restorations.
Audi would just find the cheapest local paint shop and charge me double for the privilege!

It is straight it's an optical illusion - the sticker follows the line of the crease of the boot which makes the number plate look wonky. And the sticker is fun! Fun car deserves fun sticker.

I think I am rebelling against the understated SQ5 phase of my life, this car is in full on shout loudly mode!

    Hi Jose

there was I on my way home from work this evening leaving Aylesbury in my subdued S3, and there at the roundabout was a yellow S1, I thought there aren't many of those around and then spotted the plate and off you went into the distance with the new sticker on show.

    have a good weekend

How exciting, and what are the chances!
Yep, was on my way home via Hemel Hempstead (where I was doing a VCDS tweak for another S1 owner) from Oxford.
I've done about 700 miles up and down the country in the last 2 days :)

    Hi José,

How's it going, not sure if you remember me but I was a member of the MyAudiQ5 forum (can be a bit quiet on there though) and I was ordering one as you were selling yours. You did offer me yours at the time but I decided on Black instead of White. Anyway I remember you said you were selling for an S1 and it looks really nice. Not usually a fan of Yellow cars but really suits the S1, how are you getting on with it and got an itch to change yet?
I sold my SQ5 last week after having it just over a year and have just ordered an S5.

    Cheers,
    Nick

Hey Nick! Good to hear from you.

The itch came some time ago when I ordered the new RS3 in April! It's coming in Oct/Nov so BumbleBeast will be going before then!

Sounds like you and I are as bad as each other getting through cars!

What made you drop the SQ5? I'm guessing not nimble enough (same for me)?
You not worried about ordering the S5 when the new A4/A5 is being launched? I presume you got mega discount to soften the blow!?

Yes I think we are as bad as each other!

I was tempted with the RS3 as well but not really any discounts around from what I could see and I think it would be a bit small with 2 young kids.

Yeah the SQ5 was a really nice car but not quite there for me and I do prefer petrol power. Trade off is I will have to use wife's car once a week to cut the miles down a bit but if it gets me a faster and nicer car for less money I am happy with that. I was considering waiting for the new S4/S5 but it's probably a couple of years off and yes got a good discount so I thought have the S5 for a couple of years and then look at changing, although once the RS6 drops under 50k I would be tempted!

Mine should be ready around October too so guess we will be picking up at similar times. What spec. did you go for?

Yea, I'd also love an RS6 - but - am thinking my next car will likely be a Tesla in 2-3 years time. Test driving one in August, and having seen the Model S at Goodwood I was blown away. Tesla actually charge the car free of charge at loads of superchargers around the UK (40mins=200miles) - so bye bye £4k annual fuel bill! Even if you charged exclusively at home, 10k miles=£600-700!
All that and 0-62 in 3.1 seconds, 7 seats and 2 boots! SOLD!
I'll probably go for the upcoming Model X though as I do miss the road presence the SQ5 had.

Spec is per my signature, everything but the pano roof (it's my trademark spec now)! Details here.

I like Tesla and know they are really fast a friend works there and says the performance model S and 4wd drive one (is that model X?) are really quick. only problem is they are silent and I like noise with a car unless they do a sound actuator type thing like the SQ5? Really good saving on fuel though.

Good spec. on the RS3, seen a few videos and they sound amazing.

No, the model S has a 4x4 performance version. No actuators I don't think. I agree, lack of sound will be hard to get used too!

oh right. Yeah will take some getting used too.
I still think pcp wise they will be pretty expensive. iam sure when I looked at it a while ago it was at least £1,200 a month so even with say £700 a month on the SQ and then £300 fuel it's still quite a bit more for a Tesla. That was without discount though and wonder if they are doing any now?
