Jb1 tuning box

Hello all, just after some advice really, I be now hit the 1000 mile mark and I told myself once reached I'd be looking to increase performance. Td1 Ect stop me going down the remap route so the warranty safe (ish) option it is. The mtm m-cantronic seems like the most viable option for me as expensive as it is, but I'm hearing great things about the jb1 box more so from the overseas forums. Does anyone have any first hand experience of this box and could share some much needed advice. Thanks in advance.

I've used JB1 for about 6 weeks now and very happy with it.
Really transforms the car!

Now using it with some E85 blend and raised the boost a bit + stock intake mods.

Pulls reeally hard now.

But still very smooth without any hiccups just like a flash tune.

The drawback compared too Mtm is that you have to access a boost connector at the bottom when installing (same connector as dtuk uses) and no option for 'backup warranty'.

There are dedicated jb1 threads on vortex and mk7 forums where you can find all the info you want and more and keep reading about it for over a week... :-D

Cant comment on the JB1 really but If you have to connect to the bottom sensor that means getting under the car. Not easy to do at the roadside if you have any problems. Just food for thought - and same as DTUK.

I have tried both DTUK and MTM. Both products are good. I personally think you can see where money has been spent with the MTM. I am very happy with it.

Useful reading about DTUK vs MTM here

Another product which might be of interest is the pedal box. Useful reading about pedal box here

He asked about about JB1.

It's irrelevant to link to Dtuk threads!

JB1 is in a much more sophisticated product.

Rather read the the JB1 threads here and other forums.

Again, on vortex and mk7 forums there are 100++ page JB1 threads with absolutely every little aspect about it...

Thanks for the replies gents appreciate it. I've seen a fair bit off stuff about golfs ect on other sites running this box but i just wanted to get thoughts off the guys on here as it is this site that made my mind up to buy the car in the first place. Oli I'd appreciate that review if you can find time at some point. Jungle I totally agree with the roadside issue should any problems occur, but because of you and batch I'm 99% going to be going the mtm route! Im just wanting to cover all bases before I jump in.

Paul u r welcome. I added the links on reviews across the boxes so you have them all in one place to access them, as its not always easy searching across the forum. The reviews also include fitting guides.

It will be great if @OliS3 did a review on the JB box as well for future readers.

What ever route you take, its fair to say that all of the options you have selected will add performance to the car and put a nice big smile on your face.

Regards
Jungle
