Jardo's 'Journey to quattro' - My Story...

so ok
you sold it to get a depo for a house
you regret selling it
and now you say the money will likely go on a car and not a house

id love to crack open your head and see whats inside!

Pizza and alcohol free beer from what I saw today

Good afternoon. Drove the panda cross. It's annoyingly not as utterly **** I was expecting. I drove it through a river, it was a laugh.

Still a bit odd though

has something electrical not broken on it yet?

You sound like one of the arsewipe customers that come into my work with opinions that their thick parents formed in the 80's and passed down to them to further annoy modern intelligent people.

That's usually what I say to customers who say things like that swell haha :yahoo:

Panda Cross is the best car known to man, otherwise a connoisseur of all things fantastic such as myself wouldn't have sold my S3 so I can enjoy one every day.

The denial is on levels only jardo could manage :moa:

to be fair my opinion was formed from me owning a punto, albeit a mid - late 90s one, where almost everything electrical was broken on it . then the floor pans rusted out and the head gasket went. thankfully the floor pans/head gasket happened just after i sold it to my little brother. whoops.

wouldn't mind having a play with a new abarth punto though, they just look like they would be fun to chuck around

This is painful to read.

The journey has ended, he no longer has an Audi, never mind a 'quattro', I'm thinking of locking this thread to reduce the pain! :D

Lock it and ban him until he gets a decent car........

All fiats are **** it's a fact not an opinion that's why they are cheap. The interiors are nasty to say the least and they are as reliable and as useful as a chocolate fire guard . Some fiats can't even get up a hill, and last but not least god damn they are ugly cars.

It's the right thing to do though making savings where you can and buying your house mate I bought my first one when I was 18 to get on the ladder now at 25 I'm on my third because an appreciating asset ( house) is far better to have than a depreciating asset (cars) !

Good luck mate in future and keep to the fiat forums until you get another audi ;-)

What are you going on about Sean? I heard you spouting out a load of ******** about Fiat's and instantly zoned out.

******* yes.

Please tell me this is one to own (for a while at least) rather than to make a quick quid on?

S3 ownership is very much business as usual.

I set about replacing a headlight bulb, but no luck.

So off came the bumper, clearly for the first time in it's life.

The ballast wiring had obviously had some sort of water ingress and got a bit hot at one point.

All in all a rather sub optimal situation.

Luckily @scotty_24 is an absolute legend had a full spare headlight, so I butchered the hell out of it for the wiring and swapped the looms over. Only realising right now as I am typing this that I could have just swapped the entire unit...Tit.

All back together and fitting perfectly.

This weekend it has had an oil and filter change, air filter, fuel filter.

I have got rear discs and pads in the garage to fit, a new aux belt and tensioner to go on too.

So all in all, can't complain too much :)

Hi Jardo, did you machine polish this yourself? Brilliant result, what DA did you use and compound?

Hi.

Yes I do all of my own paint correction, have done for years. The tools you use really aren't that important however my polisher is a Rupes. I am a big fan of Chemical Guys V34, it just does everything. I used it in this instance, then worked to Chemical Guys V38 to finish.

@16Klappe jardo car is looking amazing, :)

Thanks Sandra, it's in such great condition. I was lucky to get such a nice one, just want to keep it that way now.

Rear discs and pads done, aux tensioner fitted and belt fitted. Also had a child.

Not a bad week in fairness.

Thanks guys!

Progress has been slow due to baby presence.

Cleaned, done a few hundred miles in it, driven it in the snow, it's great.

Slow. But great.

A costly couple of weeks in the Jardo house.

Love to @scotty_24 for being a hero.

Cambelt, waterpump and tensioner done.
Coilovers fitted.
Polybushed lower arms.
Track rods replaced.
Bottom ball joints replaced.
Polybushed rear tie arms fitted.
New headlight switch.
20mm spacers.
MOT'd.
Wet sanded and polished to within an inch of it's life.
