Non FIA is quite clearly the way to go.

Corbeau-ClubSport-Bucket-Seat-5-Square.jpg

A pair of them; with subframes and double locking runners. £300, brand new.

http://www.corbeau-seats.com/cs

Compare that to an equivalent quality FIA approved seat and you'll be paying £300 a seat, without double lock runners and subframes.

So I bought a pair, as well as 6 point harnesses.

And I treated myself to an OMP helmet. Because racecar.

Love the seats! Where did you buy them from? Will be keeping an eye on this and how your mounting with the sub-frames etc.

I actually got the seats on eBay because they seemed to be cheaper, but I don't think they are. I couldn't work out if the ones direct from Corbeau had the double lock frames and mounts.

Hopefully the seats will be a fairly easy fit, my friend George fitted the same seats, the same harnesses and the subframes to his LCR so I've at least got a reference.

Fair play. Plus the standard seats are like 85kg? good weight saving!
unfortunately i have the cream leather interior but im sure i can source some black doorcards and interior to help match it a bit better.
Ah thats alright then, may ask you once there in if i could have a test sit in them to work out what size would be best as i may treat myself to these for Christmas and your local ish.

Did you go for standard or XL width?

I genuinely don't know how these seats are so cheap. They don't look or feel cheap. Like I said to you on Facebook, I had REAL Recaro Pole Positions in my A3, which were the best part of £1500 with sidemounts and no runners. I genuinely believe that if you took the cover off these, and stitched in a Recaro logo, nobody would tell the difference...and you'd have £1200 in your pocket (and seats that slide, rather than having to unbolt and move it to another set of holes).

Highly rate them!

I looked at the measurements and went for one of each. So I'll have the skinny seat, and just out of courtesy for my girlfriends lovely ladies she can have the slightly wider frame.

I'm hoping these are as you say, as a new seat I haven't seen any in the flesh yet and not many people seem to have them fitted on the Internet either.

Quite a few of my friends have had these on their radar though, I've been asked for lots of information about them from quite a few people.

DPD says they will be here tomorrow! Fingers crossed!

I sat in a standard width one at a show, and although it held me very well, it would have been annoying in anything but a purely track car, so went for the XL. With my fat **** in it, its tight enough to be comfortable, but I have to take my phone and wallet out of my trousers :p

It will be fine...you know what a tart I am! I've taken numerous people out, and they all say how nice they are...and nobody can believe the price!

I'm a 34", sure you'll be fine :)

If not, just swap for the passenger seat...who cares if they are comfortable or not?! :p

I hope so, they'll be here tomorrow according to the live tracking! :):):):):):)

How are you going to avoid being decapitated in the event of a roll?

How are you going to avoid being decapitated in the event of a roll?

Luckily I've got my overly inflated ego and a couple of keyboards wedged around me to keep me safe.

You've got to buy a ticket to win the lottery, maybe you should give it a try?

Personally I don't like the idea of having my spine crushed and being in a wheelchair for eternity

Whatever floats your boat

Personally I don't like the idea of having my spine crushed and being in a wheelchair for eternity

I don't own a boat, and I couldn't care less about having my spine crushed and being in a wheelchair for eternity. Exactly the same thing could happen if I got hit by a bus on my way to work.

P.S, did you not think I was more than aware of the point you are making in such a fantastic way? Just incase you think that for some reason I wasnt, lol. I was. Please move along to the next build thread where your personal opinions may (or may not) be taken seriously and that by seeming all knowledgable and mighty regarding your personal safety standards may gain you kudos. It's worth noting that if you had of made your comment in a slightly different manner, actually trying to share your wealth of knowledge with people rather than making an almost disbelieving rhytorical question about the peril I was clearly facing and my idiocy for having buckets and harnesses with no roll cage then we could have been having a very different discussion now. Which could have benefitted many forum users who maybe didn't know as much as me, or heaven forbid you do about the safety implications of spine compression, decapitating and general death involved with having bucket seats and harnesses without a roll cage. But you didn't, so we're not. Have you ever even ha a car with a roll cage?

I point out harnesses installed incorrectly, the cage element of it hasn't ever bothered me :)

I have a problem with these seats too...

They were delivered whilst I was out, so my neighbour signed for them.

He's gone away for the weekend.

ARGGGGGGH.

I cleaned the car this morning.
