Jardo's 'Journey to quattro' - My Story...

Rob and I get on like a house on fire. Lou doesn't seem to like me though.

I sold Rob a new Fiat 500, hardly speak to him any more haha.

I'm sure she's cool. They're both good people. Same goes for Andy. Rob's evo is going to be cool once it's back in one piece. He's going for carbon fibre wings and bonnet but refusing to paint them so it's going to look "Fully Sik yo!"

Andy is weird.

So is Rob.

I love the evo; and Andys Volvo. I just wish they would both use them more.

A bit difficult for both of them I guess. Rob's evo is in bits currently after the recent incident and Andy's got his nice S4 as a daily now. He needs to finish the beast S4 too!

Rad beading this morning.

Maybe, but it is an unnecessary expense :) I don't know if I can get silicone hoses custom made? Would be well worth looking into if I could.

Looks much better! Those angel eyes used to make me sad :(

Spamming my way back up to the first page with some pictures. It rained today, and I realised you can't see how bad the bodywork is when it's wet. Win.

I also had a play with this -

I really really love my chrome grill surround.

Not long until I can realise my next stage of superboost. Quite excited really, pay day in 9 days time :)

I remember you said you changed the servo vacuum pipe.
I'm looking at changing mine and routing it from the TB side rather than the long way round the engine, and next to the turbo. I did this with the expansion tank overfill too.

Do you remember what ID pipe you used? I have the outlet on top of the TB spare as I deketed the carbon canister. That's 8mm iirc. Do you think silicone would do the job?

I actually changed the entire pipe for an OE one, which I picked up from the scrappies for £1.

So I can't really help :(

You can have the wheels Russ, pm me an offer. I've got another set lined up.

Fairly lame update.

I'll post pictures with this fitted on Tuesday night, but basically I've had the front bumper resprayed. It's a bit orange peely but a LOT better than what I currently have.

I've sprayed the outside of the grill surround in gloss black, which I think will look really good.

Bought a new steering rack, so hopefully no more leaking once that's fitted.

Just generally tidying the car up as best I can, a couple more bits to do but all in all it's not too bad at the moment.

New steering rack this evening with Mr Miller, and a new front bumper. Otherwise, all the same at the moment :)

A great afternoon/evening indeed, Phil Miller to the rescue again! A steering rack change with inner track rods swapped, from drive in with the wheels on to drive out with the system bled in under an hour...Un-human mechanical legendary! I can't thank you enough bro.

I fitted an LCR rack a couple of months ago, and it had more holes than a holey thing. Leaked like a sieve. I've put 7L of CHF in it in the last month...At £11 a bottle!

So I picked up an S3 rack on ebay for £50 posted (I think) and touch wood after a 25 mile drive this one doesn't leak :)

Also, everybody knows my front bumper is ****ed and I have to turn the saturation and contrast up in my pictures to hide it. If you didn't know, that's what I've been doing for the last year...

Well I wasn't having that!

I bought a bumper off eBay, paid an extortionate amount for it because I was told it was non metallic black and immaculate. Straight bolt on part...It turned up in Volcano grey haha!

So I spent a month, in my shed, like a man, with rattle cans and wet and dry. And I must say I'm rather pleased with the results :)

And a cheeky engine shot, so you can see where the magic happens.

The dullest of dull updates.

I did 600 miles in this in the last two days, spent over 12 hours in the car. :)

Currently running very well, and looking great. I just got home from a drive back from Basingstoke on the 303 at night...need I say any more?

For the first time in about a month intake temps were sub 15* tonight, with ambient outside temp at 20*, so the IC was doing it job ****** well! As such it was really loving it and gulping in as much air as possible, which has put my G/s logs back above 190 for the first time in months. Very happy that it's still got it in it.

Took a variety of pictures in Basingstoke over the weekend -

Home at last :)

Looking good, but are you wise letting that lot loose on it to clean it?

Thanks!

These guys are pretty good to be honest, my parents use them once a week and I get mine done there every time I can't be bothered to get fully set up when I am at home.

£7 for a wash, wheels detailed, interior shampoo'd and plastics blacked. Can't go wrong really, apart from the time it takes and the quality of products they do pretty much the same job as I would do.

They use two buckets and everything, dry off with a snazzy air blade then they soak it in a QD and microfiber it off.

It was all totally pointless though, because the A303 was just a total massacre of bugs on Tuesday night haha!

Looks way fresher with the grill surround done in black. Nice work. I want to do mine. Always worry I'm going to break off a tab or something getting the bastid out.

To remove the grill properly you need to take the front bumper off, removing the grill requires a fair bit of force.

Removing the surround is super easy, literally just push down tabs and push them through the slits on the inside of the grill and job done.

Audi got a new DV today. Because she's been a good girl.

I'm eeking it out until I get home and have funds available to fix all the little things that annoy me, **** me this thing refuses to give up though. It's been lapping it up in the hot weather we've been having, I've taken it out for a couple of midnight hoons across the moors etc and all has been good. I might post some pictures tomorrow.

I am fairly certain I have a boost leak as power and boost are both fluctuating on full throttle, but it is totally random and some times it is perfect. So I may have to chat up Phil Mil and have a smoke test done on Sunday if he is about. But I'm not too bothered.

She has been spending a lot of time round at her younger brothers house this week too, and as such is feeling neglected because George the Golf is always immaculate, and poor old Audi is used and abused.

Love that thing though :friends:

(Audi will still show it a clean pair of heels any day though :p)

Saw that golf in valley road the other day, cheeky RTech sticker as a little hint ha. Back needs a touch lower though I thought.
