Unfortunately Rob I have to agree with you. We were never going to get a good deal or even one that was remotely good. It's not in Europe's interest to help us out is it. Two of my neighbours work for JLR at Solihull and Castle Brom. Don't think they will be happy.
I work for BT and we have a lot of contracts with multinational companies that we will struggle to hold onto and this will have an impact.

Some companies have already made decisions on future investment that may have come to the UK and moved to mainland Europe. The current deal is not good, No deal would be a disaster.
We won't have to worry about immigration in a few years time, who will want to come here ??.

Britain used to be a well respected country and a world leader in many sectors, sadly that's no longer the case and it would need something nigh on impossible to reverse that trend now, not a Great Britain anymore....

We have effectively subbed everything out though, one Govt after another. Nothing of any significance is produced here anymore by UK companies.

The BBC report does not match others I have seen today from both Sky and the Guardian??
The figure of 5,000 (other reports say 4,500) is a figure described as "up to" and from "globally" their global workforces. Ford have also announced job cuts "across Europe". These losses are blamed mainly on much lower sales in China and the fall in popularity of diesel cars

Probably stock piling and storing in case brexit goes pear shaped.
Stock pre-brexit can't be hit with an extra tax, should that be the outcome.
A lot of companies are being super cautious at the minute.
