I admit it, I am weak as ****.

Was yanking it this way and that. The engine was rocking, the car was rocking.

HELP.

What next?

Due you reckon there are some leverage points I can use a large spanner on?

If you got a can of WD40 with one of those nozzle pipes on it, could you try and spray oil onto the grommets to lube and soften them up??

Might be enough to free them up?

Can you remember just why you wanted the cover off in the first place??? Or were you just looking for your Balls!

Jesus just smash it off and leave it off you dont need it!

Have got a Green panel filter to fit so I need the cover intact

Will give it another go tonight!

l would try something that wont cause damage. try a length of wood in various points minding that the position looks sound. Once you get one corner of then you should be fine for the rest. if you break it then l have one here. When you have it of just put a cai in, l had a green panel one to start and dont rate it. Or, this is the best advice, get a garage to do it for you.

hrm, you may be right, its going to AMD on Thursday for the springs to be changed so may ask them

i should be able to get the ****** thing off - shouldn't cost £65+VAt just to change an airfilter!

That basket retaining clip on the air ducting!!! Sorry to resurrect this thread but it made me laugh so much and I need to get that clip off.. once its off I will replace it with a jubilee clip.

i managed to get the flaming thing off but now it wont go back on! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! is there some kind of technique... the grommets on the rear have gone on fine but the ones at the front just refuse to push down. mother funk!
