I was rolling around today and it was rather warm. So i set the climate on my side nice and low. But the heaters remained hot.
I remember reading on here about sometimes the motors or linkages sticking.
Fairly new to the A4. I popped out the lower dash, i could instantly see a motor and yellow linkage. I pressed every button on the unit to see if any of them made it move. None did. So it sort of confirmed this would be the troublesome unit.
I took it off, moved the flap by hand and it confirmed this was the flap that controlled the hot and cold. Plugged back in the motor (whilst off the heater) and adjusted the hot/cold. It started to move. Popped it back into place and all is well. I wonder if it'd just slightly gone out of range.

Another productive day!

Done about 160 miles today, lovely cool in the drivers seat. Seems to be working still. Which is nice!
Auto dim mirror next!
