As above, the mercedes garages are messing my parents around, and I would like to be able to scan the car myself. Currently quoting a £1200 repair for an eml problem.

that looks good, cheers for that Steve, the only ones I could see were ones that just gave a fault code reading on a display lol.

Shame its in Hong kong though

I buy stuff from Hong kong all the time normally only takes a week and no import duties

Dane, have your tried to google for a mobile diagnostic service? If you get stuck, I have a few numbers you can try, or if the car is driveable, I think there's a diagnostic specialist based in Redditch who would look after you.

Not as yet, My parents have always had mercs so I thought getting the software would be useful into the future aswell.

Currently the garage are saying the timing for the exhaust valves are out and the repair will be £1200, Symptoms are the engine management light and an odd noise, I want to drive it to see what that is but, the car isn't old enough to need a cambelt change or anything, the heads never been off. Sounds a bit fishy to me...

You'd be surprised how crap Mercedes built quality is between 5-10 years ago. New ones in the last 5 years are slighter better.
