As time goes on, I'm increasingly convinced that I am the one who is actually happy with my car and has no plan to make any modifications.

Is there anybody else out there?

I never modified my 8P, and have no plans to modify my 8V. So you can count me in :)

Best car I’ve owned to date by a country mile. Any niggles I’ve ironed out myself instead of bashing my head against a brick wall dealing with incompetent dealers. Hopefully many more smiles per miles ahead.

Happy camper here! 2 and a half years in and still makes me smile every time I start it up.

The only mods I have are the fan-style washer jets and different wheels for summer, mainly because of the requirement for winter tyres where I live. Winter tyres are on the standard wheels.

The car is epic, plain and simple. ;)

I am very happy with mine.

I have sorted a few niggles myself, such as swapping the wipers (originals were noisy), painted rear hubs due to rust and painted exhaust tips due to poor quality finish that was flaking.

Fitted heated fan-style (though there's still a jet there they are much better!) from an A6. Part numbers:

    4G0-955-987-A
    4G0-955-988-A

Bought direct from a dealer. Easy peasy to swap over.

Plus one, I am happy with my pfl rs3 still in the honey moon, but the forum is more grown up than the Ford forum, no comment there.

Secondary decats hopefully soon and looking at downpipe aswell.

Ticks all the boxes, drives like a golf in comfort mode, dynamic mode is hyper hatch time, 5 doors for carting the kids about.

Keeper so far all good, would consider a facelift one at later date

How did you repaint the exhaust tips; I thought they were welded on to the rear box...?

Yeah they are welded, I did them in situ, there is a thread with the details.

Very happy with our 8P RS3, still nothing we'd change it for. That said ours is shared with a TT ragtop and 185bhp A1 which again we are very happy with - but the RS3 gives us biggest smiles by far. Other than low speed brake squeal - easily sorted - nothing has gone wrong in going on 7-years (purchased October 2011) of ownership. A fabulous motor car...

I like the car but will probably, hopefully, get rid in November at 1 year old as I don't keep anything for long and it hasn't done it for me.

Had the rusty hubs sorted by the dealer, stop the cold start noise by selecting Dynamic, never had squealing brakes and sorted the throttle response by fitting a Pedal box.

For me, it's a great car which I really like but it's not my cup of tea tbh.
Can't stand the divvy pops and bangs but like how it handles and goes.
Overall, I'd wish I'd never bought it but glad I did....if you know what I mean..

Absolutely love my car. Just a few minor annoyances which take the shine off ownership sometimes, such as the rusty hubs (which look terrible) and the squealing brakes (which sound terrible)! Shame, because they are easy fixes for Audi.

Plus points are that it goes like hell, looks incredible, is well built, sounds amazing and is a consummate all-rounder with the 4WD.

+1, fantastic car just has its niggles... shouldn’t have to put up with them, but it’s worth doing so for the whole package.

A few niggling issues that seem to have appeared with every car, Service dealers that seem to think they can fleece everyone and poor customer service.
That said would I have another RS3. Absolutely. In a heart beat, best car I have owned by a mile and it still puts a smile on my face every single time.
The positives of these cars FAR outweigh the negatives.

It's the first car I've had in a long while where I'm not looking for a replacement after a few months. It does what its supposed to very well imo. I came from a long line of AMG Mercs and even though I miss their unique character, I think I'll keep a hold of the Audi for a while yet. Only mods I've made are the fan washers and new wiper blades...

I'm looking to do both. how Audi can sell a car which miss the windscreen is ridiculous tbh. My wipers 'judder' along the windscreen a lot - (had for 1-2 months and hardly used them in this heatwave).
Agree overall positives better than negatives and great driving car though. You always think though about how good the car could've been

Me too. But for the last 4 cars I’ve had before the RS3, an Audi RS was the end goal... now I’ve got it, people ask me what I’m having next and I can’t answer it. I have literally no idea, the car is amazing and there is nothing else out there at the moment that I could afford to compete with it. These FL RS3’s have been toned back slightly, the next one as we all suspect will be a lot worse in the engine department so I think we need to keep a hold of them and enjoy while we can.

I have my stock wipers, they do judder but it’s down a windscreen coating. I have last week changed to the fan washers, so much better as there was never any hope of directing those 6 jets. I had never altered them, they seemed to get worse and worse as time went on.

For replacement wipers I can recommend Valeo VM388. Passenger side is slightly shorter but has no impact. I find these wipers give the best performance with no judder and low noise.

The fan washers looks a good mod, Ive ordered some up so thanks to Ozmosis for posting the part numbers

There really isn’t that much when you drive it right? :whistle2::shrug:

The RS took some getting used to after coming from the S3, finding the optimum revs

turbo lag shoudln't really be happening in an RS
Please enlighten us about how to drive it right - I've tried hard throttle, slightly more gradual throttle, pressing that button with the accelerator. Only way I can not get the lag is manual mode (which I enjoy)

Must be, once I got used to the car can’t say I’ve ever noticed any to be honest :lmfao:

Can still notice when the turbo really gets its backside on the move at 4000rpm though, it flies.

Coming from a mk7 Golf R manual, it feels quick, but for being 100bhp down, doesn’t feel that much quicker! Don’t get me wrong, love the FL RS3, the noise is unreal, but do think it needs a map or JB4 box....

It's never ending though...stage 1 on mine and after a few weeks it feels normal and not that fast. Which I acknowledge is a ludicrous thing to say considering it's getting up towards 500hp and will do 100mph in 7seconds.

It’s strange because the niggles I’m experiencing are all being discussed at the moment

Hesitation in 1st, slow kick down, slow shifts in manual, TC kicking in for no reason

I’ve come to the conclusion I need to adapt my driving to extract the best from the car

I’m hoping the gearbox issues will be resolved with a software update

I find the PFL gearbox great. There is abit if a clunk between 2-1 but I can only sings it praise. Gear changes are smooth in manual and effortless. I tend to take it out for a squirt around the lanes near me early on a Saturday or Sunday morning and find 90% of the time third gear is the only gear you need for this. How it shifts from 20mph to well eye watering speeds in this gear alone never ceases to amaze me.
I changed my stronic oil the other weekend with another rs3 owner and I think I will be changing a lot sooner than 38k as it was as black as soot.
It is know even more smoother.

Turn traction off now every time I get in the car, fed up pulling away sedately or accelerating moderately in like 3rd gear and the traction light coming on! Bone dry roads too. Feels so much better to drive bootinbit in 1st. Actually goes!
