iPhone 6 lightning cable for Audi MMI Sat Nav Plus Audi 8P S3

Having read up lots of posts on this matter, I am unclear as to which cable I need to purchase.

My car does not have a connection prep in the glovebox or in the handbrake area.

The head unit looks like this:

Hi,
Are you saying that you do have the Audi connector in the car or is it Aux in information you need?
Regarding the Audi connector if fitted, this is a nightmare as there are red, blue, white and yellow collar leads to be considered. I found that the only reliable way to get the correct one was to speak with Audi parts and give them your reg ( assuming that is the original head unit) and they will give you the part number or order for you.
On the other hand if it is an aux connection you need then you need to give further info about what leads , if anything, you have fitted. If nothing fitted there are still options but the solution will probably depend on the back of radio connections

My car has the original headunit and no prep in the centre armrest, handbrake area or glove box.

I will call up Audi and get the cable ordered.

Sorry, might be me missing something but what are you going to plug the cable into?

It’s a mystery this Audi headunit and its compatibility. I’m sure when I went in a friend’s R8 about 5 years ago it had the same headunit and a iPhone cable into it

If you don’t currently have the AUX Plug in the centre console or the MMI in the glove box then the easiest way to connect your iPhone 6 is to get this:

It’s the AUX plug with the 32pin connector that plugs into the back of your RNSE. You’ll need to code this in, telling your car that AUX is available.


If you don’t want the AUX above then the alternatives are:

There is no other cable I’m aware of that plugs into the RNSE
