Hello! Hope I'm posting this in the right place, I'm sure I'll get told off pretty quickly if I'm not. Just wanted to post a quick introduction to me and my car as I'm completely new to Audis and this forum.
So here's the car; an A4 B5 Avant in Yellow, nicknamed the 'Yellow Menace'. Powering it is a 1.8t remapped by the previous owner to 190 bhp.

Bought it last Sunday (28th May) from Cardiff and it got me 200 miles back to Cornwall. However, she's not perfect. Biggest problem so far is what I believe to be a dodgy MAF, you can feel it struggle when you put your foot down and random dips in power. The other problems are mainly aesthetic, like the big crack in the front bumper/splitter that can be seen in the first picture, tiny amounts of rust sports, a couple small patches of lacquer peel and the odd crack and scuff. All to be expected from an 18 year old car but all stuff I'd like to sort out. Other bits that need fixing are; burnt out trip computer screen, rattly heat shield, broken interior trim, dodgy radio and a hit and miss rear wiper.
After sorting out these issues I'd like to swap the interior for leather, fit new wheels and maybe lower it a little bit.
If you've read all the way through then thanks! Any comments, suggestions, advice etc is all highly appreciated.

Welcome.

Never liked the way the Votex kit (it was a dealer option bodykit) was color coded but they left the door blade things in black :(

Welcome, good to see another one in yellow.

Welcome bud also got a modified a4 b5 1.8t avant

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Thanks also for letting me know the name of the body kit, even if it was just to say you didn't like it! I actually like the black strip, think it breaks up the yellow a bit, but good to get opinions on it.
Definitely good to see one in yellow, would love to see some more pictures of it if you have any?
Will be updating this thread with my numerous inevitable failings and fleeting successes.
Also, what wheels have people got? Looking for a bit of inspiration and maybe a bit of guidance size wise.
Cheers.

So first fail/problem. Went to change the numberplate lights for some LED bulbs as I prefer them. Took the cases for the lights off and they're a mess. One is broken badly and both are really corroded. Both bulbs broke as I tried to remove them from the encrusted holder, can only assume they've been in there since 1999. My question is can I buy these plastic covers/holders anywhere? Is there an LED unit that does the job instead of just the bulbs like I bought? Hoping for some solutions as my attempts to clean/fix these aren't going well and I'd rather shell out for new.
Pictures of the part I mean:

Once again thanks for any help.

main dealer for those bits.

I usually get my dealer parts from mjr901 on facebook. Theres also the parts request thing above you can use.

Nice, does that replace the whole unit? That chap on Facebook has quoted me 30 quid, 13 would be nicer!

Yes mate, they are from China though, hence the fettling but been far more reliable than the LED bulbs on my TT, after 4 sets I went back to standard bulbs lol

Don't we all love car part deliveries? Just got all my bits from Euro Car Parts to do a bit of a service on the Yellow Menace. This includes; 5 litres of oil, new oil filter, new fuel filter, new cabin filter, new Pipercross performance air filter and all new wipers (mine were crap). Just all the stuff I could think of changing when looking online, can anyone reccomend anything else I could change that would benefit the car?
Some pictures below because why not.

Just needed to open the screw holes a fraction to get them to sit perfectly in the recess. Could have probably just wanged them up but that's not really me.

Thanks Andy, yes I believe it is a factory colour but not 100%. I did order said LED lights and unfortunately they didn't seem to fit at all, trying to find if Avants and Saloons have slightly different fitments or not.
Also had a go at LED interior lights, with mixed results. The service also went quite well, will post a proper update soon.
Cheers,
Jordan
