What do you guys think about internet ownership of material ????
If you post something i.e. photos, detailing your Tesla, etc. on the internet, on a blog, youtube, etc. do you still own the material? or have you passed ownership of the material into the hands of the 'Meta net'.

In the majority of cases you still own the copyright but by using the service you are granting the host a licence to host and display it - it’s all buried in the legal T&C of using a site.

If posted as part of a business then the business owns it.

The issue is with enforcement:
Most people expect everything for free
It’s easy to remove watermarks etc so the owner’s is no longer known or obvious - and harder to prove
Infringement only attracts a licensing fee as if it had been licensed - no disincentive.

There is/was a saying, that if you used something/some service on the internet without needing to pay, then YOU are the product - something like that, ie as implied already, there are no free lunches.

Yeah well I'm pro- fair use but I still think I should preserve the creator attribute somehow. So, all in all I'm probably somewhere in between.
