depends on age

If you have specific issues with getting low cost cover (points etc) you might be better finding a specialist insurance broker - they often have access to insurance markets that do not deal direct to the public. A good starting point would be the British Insurance Brokers Association to find a broker near you.

I do it for u and make little cash etc

But if a modded a car try 1st central im with them

We actually have a specific thread on this forum, precisely for this purpose.

Click here to read it. I'm sure you'll find it helpful.

I now understand what a broker is, im in south Wales is there any local if anyone knows

Yellow Pages?

Have you looked at the forum thread I linked you to? There are brokers on there who are forum sponsors; they have arranged good quality cover at good prices for many members on here, including me..

I have nothing against brokers, they take the stress out of finding insurance for you. But when you have online site like GoCompare and Moneysupermarket, then brokers are pretty much obsolete for 10 minutes of your time in front of a computer.! Of course this is based on you have a standard car. For modified cars, then I suggest you try the forum sponsors.

In my opinion of course.

All sorted thanks guys iv looked up a fee site and my best price is 1585 thats good enough and that's in Moneysupermarket, thanks a lot hope to see you all at show season one day :D nick

Why do you think £1800 for the A3 is too much, but £2600 for a Corsa is fine? Either way, you should always check insurance before you buy a car, so you don't end up having to settle for a really high premium. confused.com, comparethemarket.com moneysupermarket.com all do comparisons from lots of the big names. DirectLine you have to go to separately, and some of the more specialised/specialist brokers you're better dealing with over the phone. They should also be able to help you get the best deal, without potentially making yourself underinsured, or insurance void by giving false details.
