Installing 3.5 Aux in

As tittle sugests, has anyone attempted to do this?

Looking at maybe adding one assume some vcds would be needed but think it may be possible as the 8v is offered in some markets with aux (instead of AMI).

Any help appreciated

Can you not pick up a lead on ebay that plugs into the AMI with a 3.5mm Aux adaptor?

Didn't know that existed. Doubt that's an original Audi MMI cable. Can anyone vouch for the quality of that as the whole idea behind this is that Bluetooth is annoying me.

original or not, audi do produce their variations of this type. You can spend a lot more on the real ones and if you buy a 'replica' you won't hear any difference because its all analogue.

Bit wary on replicas these days after having 2 chargers burn on me and nearly set the house on fire.

Nothing wrong with the 3.5mm replicas. As said above, they're just passive analogue cables, no electronics in them. No issues with signal quality in the cheap one I bought off ebay, works well!
