When replacing or reprogramming engine control units, immobilisers (separate units or combination instruments or similar), keys, and lock sets, the proofs of Personal Identification (Passport, Driving licence, Utility Bill etc) and the vehicle registration document / Insurance Document must be submitted by the customer and entered by the Independent Repairer in the Volkswagen record sheet.
For the protection of the customer it is necessary to take copies of passports and vehicle registration documents and to file them in chronological order.
If the passport cannot be copied, the passport number must be added to the customer data. The Independent Repairer or his staff must adjust the chassis number of the vehicle and confirm it on the form.
On request, the complete records must be provided to Volkswagen AG or Volkswagen UK at any time. The enquired data will be stored.
