Can anyone recommend a decent independent in the Gainsborough / Scunthorpe area?

No, but I would also like to find someone good for VAG. Incidentally I used to really rate Hull Audi as one of the best (but obviously very expensive) Audi dealers. Richard Grice was the service manager and took real pride in the standard he set. However, Gilders Group who owned the dealership got into financial difficulty building the huge glass VW / Audi Centre on the Sheffield ring road just as the recession bit, and were forced to sell Hull and another East Yorks dealership to JCT600 Group. Richard left, and the whole thing has slipped now in my experience. Richard Grice now works for Doncaster Audi so that is probably much better now, but I haven't tried it. Good luck in your search, I'd be very interested in any feedback on anyone you find, and I'll let you know if I turn up anyone myself. Chrisavant
