incorrect miles remaining on DIS after Cruise Control fitted - advice needed

as above, I disconnected the battery prior to fitting Cruise Control. The cruise is working but i noticed the miles remaining till empty in DIS was v low, i filled up yesterday so should be showing a lot more. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this or knows what to do?

The range will be low until you do some good miles to get your average consumption back up.
