Immobiliser Pick Up Coil

Hi,

I am having issues with the immobiliser on my 1.8T sport 1999.

I know from previous threads that the pick up coil may be the issue or the wiring to the immobiliser control unit.

Been to Audi and they are saying that you cant just replace the pick up and have to change the whole ignition switch.

Can somebody let me know if this is true and if anyone has changed the coil can they let me know how easy it is please.

Hi if you get no joy i can completely remove the immobiliser bypass it so the car will be free running if you require this service please let me know.
