Not chavvy, quite stylish actually (as long as it's done well). With your wheels it'd look great.
I would defo get that done, if you dont like it then its only £65 you have lost! think it would give it that open sky look like the sportbacks which i think really suits white/silver cars.

Go for it! Are we talking vinyl wrap ala Klausters RS4? If so, hell yeah. It would be the first - I think - so blazing your own trail. I like how the opensky system looks on white cars too (as above) so think it should work well.

I'd defo go for it mate. Get the black mirrors aswell, to finish it off! Black Roof, Black grill, Black Mirrors, Tints & Dark Alloys Spot on

I'd go with just the roof wrap, too much black can have a 'cheapening' effect imo, just sold my black team dynamic for this same reason

Yeah it sure is, I have an opinion aswel as everyone else. Everyone is doing the same old mods and following the crowd... It's nice to see some originality every now and then that's all I'm saying, don't get me wrong I think it's a really cool mod and does make the car look really good, I've had it done on mine for around a year, but you see it everywhere now, but yeah get it done, I never said you shouldn't...

Mate, I never said anything about you not having an opinion, my comment was because you just closed it down as a bad deal without any reasoning. You may have seen it done to death, but I haven't seen one car with it done, hence I disagreed with your premis. We can say what they like in posts, but if you had explained what you have above then I would have understood what you meant.
I still think it looks good, and maybe Dawson could post some pics of his car to show us the finished article. I would like to see it.

Everyone doing it? I cant really remember anyone doing it to an A3! Certainly not in any great volume anyway.

I think Hastie is selling black miror covers for a 09 model, that way you could interchange easily.

I think it looks ace on white, the roof would really finish it of.... If you want 09 Black mirrors, then I have a set for sale.
I'm picking up my new a3 sportback in white (v6) with the skyroof tonight, so I can post up some pics if you like. It looked fantastic when I saw it in the showroom so id say do it. I've got black wheels too so it looks spot on. I'm currently deciding about the mirrors. I might photoshop them on once I've taken some pics...
I havent been able to take any decent pics yet - but here is one I took at the dealership before I had my new wheels (same as yours) put on.

Yeah did you get this done,i am thinking of doing the same,but not sure if it should include the rear spoiler as well.
£65 seems a real bargain,have you seen any of there work and where are they based as i work in cheshire.
In the other guys defence,black roofs are being done alot in the show scene,especially on golfs,but actually on the road you don't see many,so it wouldn't stop me doing it.

I didn't get this done as I've been busy (and away) and have to pay for a door respray now, but I'm still considering it. As you say, you don't see many on the road. The place I was going to get it done was in Birmingham. evocos, where in Cheshire do you work?

My company is based nr poynton,but as its scaffolding we work
all over,wilmslow,manchester warrington etc.
Where are you from ?
It might be worth seeing if there's anywhere closer,we may get
a better deal with 2 of us:icon_thumright:
I'm in no rush as i have just got some bentleys,new tyres being fitted tonight and then just coilovers,so wallets feeling a little light at the minute.

£65 IMO is a bargain for this to be done. If either of you get it done post some pics :icon_thumright: ... don't get my car until October, so drawing up my list of things to do
I would be very wary of a £60 vinyl roof...
I am old enough to remember them last time in the 70s and they had a tendency to fade grey....Peel off at the edges..... hold on to bird **** like super glue...devalue your car big time when you sell it ! there is a very good reason why manufacturers don't bother with them anymore.
Sorry to be **** on your fireworks but they really were naff even 30 years ago. Very popular on Allegro's and Mk ii Cortina's as i remember

Its just the vinyl that they do signs on vans etc,save's you painting the roof ,so easily changed back and cheaper

im getting mine done for £50. think it would be better if you did get the rear spoiler done as well imo otherwise it would look odd. also has anyone been told that when installing black vinyl there will be marks on the film??
Has anybody done this yet? lots of talk but no pics uploaded yet.. Are there any pics of a 3dr in white with it anywhere?
