I need help with A3 8L 1996 new rims and tires setup.

Hello everyone, I am going to put Vogtland suspension kit and new rims on my A3 8L 90hp 1.9TDI. I currently run 195/65/15 tire with 15" 6J which will now become my winter set. I found some rims already and I am thinking between 17" 7.5J or 17" 8J. On 7.5J I would go with 215/45/17 tires, and on 8J I would go with 225/45/17. Thing is that 215/45/17 will be 1 cm smaller (625mm) than current setup (635mm) in overall diameter which I assume will give me bigger arch gap because wheel is smaller and that is not what I really want. On the other side 225/45/17 are same overall diameter as current setup, but I think they are maybe too wide for 90hp car and I really do not want to loose a lot of performance on it. Thank you!

You’ve probably got the space to fit the bigger wheels if I’m honest... best thing to do is going on www.willtheyfit.com

I don’t know what your wheel offsets are so you could be closer to your suspension struts.
