The winter is (slowly) coming to an end. It's time to start to think about changing your winter tyres. To do this swift correctly, here are some advices to help you out.

What to do with my winter tyres once I changed them?

You have two options; storage service or store them yourself. In the second choice you should know that if you don't store your winter tyres correctly they risk to loose their performances. But why? The rubber is aging badly if it's not conserved correctly; cracking, hardening, wear… To avoid that, here are some guidelines

- Stock your tyres in a dry, well-ventilated and warm (10 to 25°C) place
- Don't expose the tyres to direct sunlight and bad weather conditions
- Keep them away from chemical substances, solvents or hydrocarbon
- Stock them according to if they have rims or not

Storage with a rim; You need to hang up or stack the tyres up, do not store them standing up

Storage without a rim: Do the opposite, Store the tyres standing up (don't forget to turn the tyres every 4 weeks). Do not stack or hang them.

I fit my summer tyres: rules to respect

Do remember that fitting a tyre on a rim is delicate and should be entrusted to a specialist. They will pay particular attention to the following points:

- Complying with the manufacturer's recommendations: structure, size (width, height, diameter), speed rating, load index.
- Observing the outer and inner aspect of the tyre to detect any anomalies
- Respecting fitting procedures: removal, tyre balancing and inflation, valve replacement; not forgetting compliance with fitting instructions (direction of rotation or fitting
- Taking into account specific features of some tyres: short sidewalls, run-flat...

You are only changing a single tyre: must be of the same profile, dimension and have the same speed rating and load index as the tyre being replaced. The wear difference with the tyre on the same axle must be less than 5 mm.

You are changing two tyres: Have the new tyres fitted to the rear axle. It allows better handling on wet, cornering and increased safety.

Tips: Systematically change the valve and ask for the wheel bolts to be tightened using a torque wrench, you will appreciate it if ever you get a flat tyre

Winter coming to an end fat chance!:cold: I'm leaving my winter tyres on for at least another month, sodding weather.
