how to reset gearbox ecu

please can someone tell me how to reset automatic transmission ecu - 2004 audi a6 allroad, 2.5tdi V6.
its going to scrapyard Wednesday unless I can get it going. no transmission oil pressure/circulation just want to try resetting its ecu as a last ditched attempt to save the car.

i believe it can be done with vcds.
From what i remember the car has to be running when the reset is performed
