Hello
Recently there's been a few posts asking how to put pictures up on the forum. So I thought it was time someone did a full 'How To'.
Get Storage
Firstly, if you are wanting to display images on a forum you need to upload them to the internet. For this there's many options:
Facebook
Flickr
Photobucket
Or a free online storage account such as Free Virtual Drive
and many many more of course
Facebook
If you would like to use Facebook to store your pictures, you will first need to signup for an account. Once you have an account you need to login and then create a gallery.
Once done, use the option provided to upload photos.
When you are happy with the photo, click on the thumbnail to view it full size. Now right click on the photo and click properties. On the screen that pops up highlight and copy the full address labelled Adress (URL)
Now on you forum post, click on the yellow button above the post box with the picture of the mountain and the sun on it
. Alternatively, in your post type
Flikr
If you would like to use Flickr to store your pictures, you will first need to signup for a Yahoo account. Once you have an account an have logged in, you need to upload your photo's. Ensuring you select the 'Public (anyone can see them)' option from the list.

On the right hand side of the new screen you should see a box with the following options:
Click on the text next to this will automatically highlight the text. Now you can copy it, and paste it straight into your forum post.

If you would like to use a Free Virtual Drive to store your pictures, you will need to signup for an account. Once you have an account an have logged in, you need to upload your picture using the java box at the bottom on the left hand side. All you need to do is drag and drop your photo's onto the box and it will start to upload.
Once the upload is complete, right click on the new file in the listing and click the 'Make photo public' menu.
Then right click on the file again and click 'Get link to this photo' now copy the address from the box.
Now on you forum post, click on the yellow button above the post box with the picture of the mountain and the sun on it [IMG]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3307/3455656915_0f7850cc75.jpg?v=0. Alternatively, in your post type
Benefits of a Free Virtual Drive
Most of the free picture hosting services have a limit on the ammount of times an image can be viewed. Where as a FVD doesn't, it's also handy to have one single storage point for all your files not just pictures.
Have fun people, and happy posting!
