How to keep exhaust open before VCDS mod

So I performed the vcds mod on the exhaust flaps and i think i might have perma deactivate it when the valves are closed.

Can someone shed the light the steps i have to do to ensure my flaps are open before i do the vcds mod ? Start car in dynamic ? or put in S1 ?

Read the other threads - essentially you need to turn the car on, cycle through to dynamic, ensure the valves are open and then switch the car off and disable valves via VCDS
