Yes you can do it with obd11 or vcpHi,
I'm looking to activate VIM on my A3 so that I can cast my phone on the MMI screen via cables. Can I do it myself with OBD11? I'm not so experienced so can I wreck something while at it?
Thanks,
Dan

You just swap them out in the headlight housing. Find the brightest led you can too.Does anyone has a guide on how to change the turn signal bulb (front) A3 pfl 2014
I want to change them to LED
Hey Dan would be great to know your setupRight..
I'm half way through having Google Mapse on my screen. Got one Miracast device from Amazon, a HDMI2AV box, and an AMI AV cable and magic, it works and I can wirelessly cast my phone to the MMI. Now I'm stuck in the damn VIM thing. Wish the VCDS cable would cost less than it does and the OBD11 kit arrives quicker than 2 weeks as it is advertised on Amazon. I'll find a way I think. Is anyone in West Norfolk area availabe to help me?
If someone is intrested on the kit I can post the Amazon UK links.
Thanks,
Dan
-Ami to RCA CableHey Dan would be great to know your setup
-Ami to RCA Cable
-x3 Male to Male RCA adaptors
-RCA to HDMI converter box
-12v to usb scocket
-usb cables for power
If an Apple device then you will need the following in addition to the above:
-Apple lighting AV cable
-Apple usb to lighting cable (power)
-hdmi to hdmi cable
Android devices.... not sure what cable are needed.
Wireless solutions, in addition to the first list of parts, valid for both Apple and android:
-Google chrome cast
-Amazon Fire stick
-Miracast HDMI stick
*firestick requires an app purchase.
All the above requires Video in Motion activation in order to be able to view the information display while your vehicle is moving.
Edit: just to add, both wires and wireless solution can be hidden under the centre console with no issues
Hdmi to RCA converter, not seen a cable as yet.I've got a spare chromecast laying around so that would be perfect. In that case I'd just need the AMI RCA cable, male to male RCA cable, and HDMI to RCA cable? Already have a 12v usb socket and usb cables.
Oops, meant to type box. Hopefully the battery drain shouldn't be an issue, I've got a charger in the car anyhow.Hdmi to RCA converter, not seen a cable as yet.
One thing to note if your an iPhone user, wireless mirroring = crazy battery drain.
1-can I ruin something with obd 11 if I'm not careful?
Quick one folks. If I don't plan anything other than a Stage 1 upgrade, is it worthwhile changing the intake? I may change the downpipe at a later date, but I want the maximum power I can from S1 without any hardware mods, if possible. I assume an intake with S1 won't make much difference?
The search option at the top of your page is a wonderful featureAnyone tried these.
