How far can I drive when I am due a service?

My car is due the 18k/19k oil change and inspection. I am almost at 19k.

I am hoping to get the car services in the next two weeks depending on availability at a local garage.

I need to drive a 400 mile round trip tomorrow for work and I imagine it’s fine - after all it’s a new car but I wanted to check with the learned memebers here.

Mechanically it shouldn't harm the car at all. It's then a case of how it will look when selling the car on. I reckon most people wouldn't bat an eye lid as long as a service has been done within 1000 miles of it being due. I don't think I go too much more over, though.

I used to book mine up a month ahead as that way you knew you could get a slot at Audi eg just waited for service "light" to come on and booked it in straight away.

For my S3 I was told that there is 1,000 mile tolerance, could be BS but I wouldn’t worry too much.

I was told ''within'' a thousand miles.

First - so will have to have the oil change and inspection done the same time... now at 19,400ish.

Booked it in for next week as I will be in Denmark for work driving around a rental car that will not make any noise at all unlike the RS3.

Why have you left it so late? I’m booked in for my 10000 mile service

Mine has done over 11000 miles and it says I still have 6 months or 7ooo miles or so before it needs a service.

So does mine but I thought it was normal to do it once a year or every 10000 miles. For the sake or a few hundred pound I’ll do it once a year to keep the engine best and keep the next owner happy.

For warranty purposes you'll be fine following (I hope!) what the car says. But agree that I'll probably get mine done in January when I've got a bit more time. I'll be on about 13000 miles by then.

Perfectly fine to follow the recommended but as you said, what is a relatively cheap oil change is well worth doing especially with a mapped car like your own. My oil is dropped every 5k, whether it at a service or with my specialist just for the oil change. £60 oil, £20 filter and sump plug, £75 labour.. bargain.

Had my oil and inspection service last tuesday at Leeds Audi even though my car has only done 17k. £430 for service and they charged extra £65 for brake fluid change not the cheapest But I did get a ‘free’ tin of boiled sweets

Which is why I’m getting my local garage to do it with the official Audi parts - the car is expensive but I am not paying £500 possibly when it is half or less of the price locally.

That’s what I did £300 for a major service which would have been at Audi what 650ish?
