    Evening chaps,

So I’m looking at overhauling all the hoses on my S3. This is the list I’ve got so far. Any advise is welcome, anyone also had experiences with Creations Motorsport for hoses? I’ve read mixed reviews mainly due to not fitting correctly.

Thanks Stu, I have asked if this lot would come with jubilee clips or not. I’m sure if it did they wouldn’t be marine grade SS316. I’m also a little suspect of the turbo to charge pipe pipe.... if it’ll melt! Forge do one which is known for being the best replacement.

    Quite the price difference -

    Creations motorsport £305.92
Possibly without clips, with marine grade SS316 clips approx £100 on top.

    Forge motorsport £601.53
    With clips

Is the creation motorsport stuff good enough? They claim it’s lined with flurolined..... at least the turbo to charge pipe pipe. The rest is either polyester or nomex.

I cannot comment although I know the the red turbo to charge pipe hose is made of something different to handle the heat.

The only turbo to charge pipe elbow worth fitting in my opinion is the nomex lined Forge one, the cheaper alternatives are well known for splitting and sometimes within a very short period of time.

I’ve tried the CM upper boost pipes but wasn’t impressed with the fitment at all so swapped for Forge which were so much better

I’m also interested to know about the coolant hoses as that is still on my to do list ;)

I think I’d have to agree with you on the turbo pipe bud, like I said it’s a known best replacement. I’m tempted to just go forge motorsport on all the hoses for peace of mind and knowing I’ll get all the jubilee clips I need. Last thing I want to be doing is trimming pipe to make it fit, sending back what doesnt and sourcing loads of different sized jubilee clips.... it’s another £200 odd, but it’s best to invest the money where it matters.

I got all my pipes from sfs hoses apart from the turbo one as I was told the standard one that is on is good enough plus it' hidden behind the blanket.
There was some trimming involvd with them but no big problem and I haven't had a problem with any.

Cheers hydro, I’ll check out SFS before I put my order into forge motorsport. Did yours come with jubilee clips and what grade? I got a reply back from creations motorsport and they said the clips I’d have to buy, the ones they can supply are zinc steel rubbish.

I did have to buy the clips. I'm not sure on what grade they where but they have been on a while now and no problems.

I used CM's on my 225 TT and had zero issues, I kept the standard turbo red one though as there was nothing wrong with it.

Well I decided to just go with the Forge Motorsport hoses with jubilee clips in the end, quality is as expected from them, they supply with marine grade stainless steel jubilee clips too. I ordered this lot yesterday at 4pm and it arrived today at 1pm! just need to get some time to swap them over. Also noticed that the coolant hose kit consists of 15 hoses in total. Where as all the other kits available only have between 10-13?!

Haha, I didn’t actually! Wouldn’t be a bad idea posting it up mate. I would have just removed one at a time and replaced it with what looked like it

Evening all, so got round to swapping all my coolant hoses at the weekend.... to my surprise I was left with 4? 2 of them I’m pretty sure replaces the 2 hoses shielded in heat blanket near the turbo going into the bulkhead. But the other two are a mystery to me, both are short lengths of pipe roughly 1” diameter.

Also this pipe wasn’t included in the kit to change which surprised me....

    Any ideas peeps?

This is one of the pipes that differ over manufacturing year/model... my original Forge kit didn't have a similar hose...

My coolant housing is different to yours too... there were a couple of variants depending on the year...

This will give you an idea of what I did...

Cheers Paul, really appreciate that. It is strange, because I have another hardpipe which runs along the top of yours you’ve pictured in your thread and that goes into the heat exchanger. Which explains why one of the two hoses I have left is much longer than the one I need to replace. As per your engine it doesn’t go into the hardpipe, but into your coolant distributor housing with the temp sensor. So this hose I’ve pictured isn’t one they’ve put in the kit, because Audi felt the need to change it in the last year of making our cars. Something I’m going to have to replace with OEM I’m guessing.

I cut that part off mine and used the longer hose from the kit... I believe its based on a TT one

Ahhhh, sorry I see that now.... so would you say my best bet would be to do similar to you. Remove that part of the hardpipe, change the distributor housing and use the silicon hose supplied in the kit and go directly to the heat exchanger.

Your right, this is basically my coolant system which is from an Audi TT Bam. Slight differences to the Bam coolant system in an S3.....

Mine was more necessity as some idiot fitted a bag a55 turbo in the way :)

Up to you tbh... I ran the OE hose on my GT30 with no issue but check you have the right hose before committing

New genuine housing is around 12 quid and prone to splitting (like all the plastic fittings)... I replaced the fittings to the heater matrix too as I developed a leak from one where it had split over time..

Also be prepared to go round the hose clips again once you have had a heat cycle or two through them as they go loose... don't over tighten as the plastics will split...

I ended up replacing all mine as I had one split and dump all my coolant shortly after fitting the kit...

Haha who would of done such a thing!

Thanks for the advise Tuffty, legend in the making... don’t worry I’ve already tweaked one jubilee clip to hard and snapped the nipple off one of the distributors haha. I think I’ll just replace the standard hose for an OEM. Easier than removing the hardpipe and changing the distributor, plus it’s one of the easily accessible hoses if ever I need to replace again in the future.

Be careful with the hose that is near the end of the gear selector cable, it clears fine when in neutral. But mine has been cut through when selecting gears, Forge do not supply single hoses.... it is now cable tied to the other cables out of the way - hopefully it will last.

Thanks Chris! That’s sound advice.... I did notice that it was a bit close to the gear selector and a couple other areas, I’ll cable tie them up so none foul on anything.
