So I bought this car around 5 months ago and started to notice this noise about a month after, it sounds like the car is a diesel when in fact it's a 1.6 FSI petrol

It is a 55 plate and has 50,000 miles on the clock with a FSH, with the last service done when I first bought the car 5 months ago

I have done some research on this and have heard it could be the camchain tensioner and/or the oil pump?

For around 2 months now I have been trying to get this noise on video, when I remember to do it the noise never happens, and when I forgot to get my phone out, it always made the noise, typical! But today I finally got the noise on video

Could anyone confirm that this is in fact the tensioner or oil pump, or maybe it could be something else?

The car was bought from a Audi trader in Reading and came with 12 months warranty, would I be able to claim for this under warranty or would I get the obvious excuses back from them such as "it's not covered by warranty because it's wear and tear" etc?

Hard to tell from that vid, but mine does this (or something similar) intermittently - I have heard it called the "rattle of death" - I have paperwork from Audi to show my camchain and tensioner were changed under warranty quite early on. Since it's just another example of poor quality and/or design (the car's been serviced on schedule, mostly by Audi) I have decided to ignore it until something (else) breaks. I have tried to find a pattern to it but can't, I assume it's just something in the tensioner that sticks because it's a crap design. Mine usually goes away almost instantly - the time it didn't I switched off an restarted it. Audi must know there's a problem or they wouldn't have done mine under the original warranty (before I owned it) - happy to send you a pic of my records if you like to help your case. Mine is a 2005 1.6 FSI BTW with 85k on.

"Rattle of death" doesn't sound very good. So you're car has had a chain and tensioner replacement but the noise is still there? I don't think mine has lasted more than say 5 seconds, it's just embarrassing and worrying if it's something to do with the chain I don't want it to get worse. Yesterday it happened about 3 times in 1 day, which is probably the worst I have had.

Would it be worth getting my chain replaced? There is a kit on Euro for £145.20 (FAI Audi | Euro Car Parts UK’s No.1 Car Parts Retailer) would that come with the tensioner?

It might be worth ringing my Warranty first, but I'm certain they will have there excuses ready

I don't have a clue really - mine was (according to some Audi paperwork I have) replaced ages ago and I suspect it's as bad now was it ever was. Changing it myself doesn't look like an option as you need some specialist alignment tools and it seems it would be pretty easy to mess it up and make it worse than it was - so for the 400-500 quid it'd cost me, I'm going to risk leaving it alone - it only does it occasionally. It is plainly badly designed, so since I can't find any indication that the replacement part is any better made or designed I can't see the point of laying out on it again. These cars like most nowadays are really only designed with the first three years/60K in mind (in my not very humble opinion), and evidently the cam chain on mine didn't even make that.
