so has anyone got it working retrospectively. I await a successful activation complete with security code access.
My 8V doesn't have hold assist but if I push the brakes hard on a hill, and then take my foot off the brake I get about 2 seconds where the car won't move forwards or backwards (depending on the slope) unless I obviously release the clutch. Isn't this the same thing that'll be standard on all 8V's?
Haha! That did cross my mind quickly at first actually. But no, it's not that. If I use the brake gently and then let go on a hill, I will roll. But applying hard pressure and then letting go, I'll hold for 2 seconds. The auto handbrake is off btw!
That's Hill Hold assist.... Auto Hold is totally different as it automatically applies the brakes when you come to a stop.
I never knew about that - is it in the manual? Must have missed it :-S I do find the electric handbrake a PITA on hills as it's somehow not intuitive to apply in the first place. Will give hill hold assist a go
Now found it in the manual. Claims it's triggered by the time you hold the brakes on for, rather than pressure...
any further updates on this, we need a valid security code for the ABS Module Address 03: ABS Brakes (J104) Labels: 5Q0-907-379.clb Part No SW: 5Q0 907 379 AC HW: 5Q0 907 379 D Component: ESC H75 0437 Revision: 00000000 Serial number: Coding: 12F18AA220250A720179060501C92548510450806080A4F20259003485 Shop #: WSC 06314 790 00021 ASAM Dataset: EV_Brake1UDSContiMK100IPB 008020 ROD: EV_Brake1UDSContiMK100IPB_AU37.rod VCID: 7DF789B6EC8604F6FF5-8028
Valid codes have been posted already. I took me 9 hours to extract them and they are 100% valid. Someone now needs to match them to their related adaptation channels. Until Ross-Tech fully labels the Long Coding for the ABS module the chances of retro-activating this are gonna be slim... but there could be a chance that this is SVM. If this is the case then VCDS is never gonna be able to code it.
Well, I almost made that mistake in my S3 until I realised one night enjoying launch control! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
I managed to enable it completely on my 2014 A3 SB 1.6 TDI 6spd. Missing link before seems to be security code "24990" What I did was: 1) 03-ABS -> Security-16 -> Code "20103" -> Adaptation-10 -> AUTO HOLD functional status, always active 2) 03-ABS -> Security-16 -> Code "24990" -> Adaptation-10 -> AUTO HOLD functionality, active 3) 03-ABS -> Coding-07: (src: DJAlix post) Byte 08 = 03 Byte 19 = C0 Byte 23 = F7 Byte 25 = 41 (Auto transmission) or 43 (manual transmission) Seems to be working without issue, green handbrake light comes on when stopped, releases fine too. Unbuckle seatbelt, handbrake chirps on and the light turns red. Driven about 1000 miles, no fault codes either.
Am gonna try this first thing in the morning. it would the icing on the cake if it works for me. thanks
Glad to help! I hope this works for other people too, otherwise I might get scared that I did something strange to my abs module and destroyed things.
So I tried this and it works, however will create an error message. Looks like the switch is required for this to work properly. This is in a US spec car. Also didn't have the green light show up in the speedo area when it was working. Reverting back for now. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
just done it on my 2013 uk spec audi a3 SB all works well. as expected. BIG BIG thanks. Not sure why all the long coding changes were required. but in three easy steps it all worked well. green light appears when stationary, easy to drive away plus at parking postion when seat belt removed parking brake is applied. just wondering how my mechanic is going to change the brakes, i guess hes gona need the computer to release the brakes next week. my discs are corrded on the rear. GO FOR IT! -
I forgot to mention this, I had those errors too. I fixed them by changing: 03-ABS -> Adaptation-10 -> Monitoring of functional lights-Indicator light in AUTO HOLD button -> It was 7 I think, I set it to 0(seemed logical) My euro-spec car shows a symbol instead of PARK, so I don't know how that's going to work.
Just wondering if there are any potential problems to having this without a switch to turn it off? What if the car broke down, ignition worked but engine wouldn't start and i needed to be towed/winched onto a truck? Could the brakes be switched off? Edge case i know but has happened before.
I've read that auto hold works by running the ABS pump somehow, which would stop running when the engine dies. Then the pressure would drop and the brakes would release (and ebrake should be automatically applied as usual and can be released with just the ignition on). For the same reason, working on the brakes shouldn't be an issue I think. But perhaps someone in the know should confirm this for peace of mind, I'm not sure really.
I just want to make sure I understand correctly, will this disable launch control (with S-Tronic) if hold assist is enabled?
Without the switch, this will be permanently on, not allowing you to turn off for launch control. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
You could just keep the obd11 in the car and switch off too. I ended up just reverting back to stock without brake assist as it was causing some errors (prob didn't enable correctly) but also couldn't get use to the car holding the brakes automatically. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Interested in this reply. Fitting the actual switch I've seen the thread, looks mildly horrific. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
Hi, @ rcnacura I have exactly the same Problem, only in German (Coding and Adapting is accepted, but at the end, AHold not working...) at A3 sportsback, 2016, PFL, DSG, EPB, no ACC May, can you post the number of your ABS/ESP ? (and coding?) I have 3Q0907379AA ABS System may, it's only possible with the 5Q0 ... ABS System ??? Can somebody check for the ABS number, where it is working ??? Best Thanks!

Maybe, somebody can post a Original working Coding of ABS and ABS number, with A3 8VA 2016 Pre-Facelift DSG(S-Tronic) HillHold Active AutoHold Active EPB (No ACC?) That may would be very helpful Very Best Thanks
