High Revs?

Hey people

Had my A3 for around 5 weeks now, and most of the time ill change gear around 2500-3000
But every now and then i like to change a lot later, around 5000....
and was wondering if this will damage my car at all?

The rev limiter is there for a reason, I'm not saying hit it everytime unless you have lots of Shell shares but a good handful of revs does more good than harm.

God, i used to rev that old corsa c 1.2 to the point of death, never gave up the ghost, god bless it haha.

I would worry mate, you'll be fine, if anything you shoudl be revving it to try and keep it in what little power band you'll have.

I wouldnt worry at all mate. if you're not going into the redline all the time, it'll be fine.

I regularly take mine to 6 when pushing on

Agreed! Almost makes me cringe when revving that fast in the 1.8T. I use to hit the limiter loads in my Clio, well I went through a lot of engines to say the least
