HID problem

Hi guys im in a bit of bother
I recently ordered my A3 S Line from obviously Audi and i'm scheduled to be receiving it in July time (happy days)
But the slight problem is i will be receiving my vehicle without the xenon headlights which im gutted about but i was just wondering would it be possible if i could stick HID bulbs in my head lights??

basically no!
HID bulbs will blow out your front wiper motor. there are loads and loads of threads on the forum already about this and the answer already exists on the FAQ.

You could fit LED sidelights easily and have nice white dipped and main beam bulbs (looks almost as nice as the Xenons), but so far none of us have found an LED solution for the number plate lights for 2009 onwards A3's

Yh that can be done.
If you want to fit xenons on your car you could go for a full upgrade... here is my bi-xenon retrofit install

so having missed out on getting them adding on to my car from the factory i can still get them upgraded as soon as i get the car ?

yes you can, there is a bit of fiddling around to do but yes it can be done. i did not have xenon on the car when i bought it but i recently fitted it. now to make it fully legal there is a fair bit of cost involved (Xenon headlights, headlight washers and auto self levelling system). I have 2 out of the 3 requirements (Xenon headlights, headlight washers)

You could as has been said upgrade to the BiXenons with DRL's and it should cost around £600 for a set of lights with ballasts etc (if buying from Ebay, they are much more expensive from Audi). If you wanted to fit other bulbs to your existing lights, here is how to go about getting the LED/Xenon effect. Welcome to the forum BTW!

Lol, sorry, didn't mean to scare the new lad, but thought the 8P3 Xenons with DRL's would cost a bit more than that. Hopefully he can get them for the same as you did.

Well i have heard of some guys taking their time and just buying single headlights and getting a massive bargain. most people go for the sets when buying the bi-xenons which can be expensive.

the adapters are about £50 max!

Yeah, you're deffo right there, Ash. With my last car (Astra VXR) I did the BiXenon retrofit for under £250, buying brand new discounted lights direct from 2 different dealerships. Pays to shop around, for sure.
