Hi guys need some help. Engine management light has come on took it to audi specialist they said said soot level is 17 so regenerated it. 3 weeks later its come back again. Took ot to same garage he said take it to audi dealers which i am scared of the bill. I took it to local garage and he said theres no sensor issues dpf reading fine put the dof cleaner in and 2 weeks later it come in again. Took it to another garage he seems to think its the egr cooler. The car drives perfectly no issues just engine management light its an audi a6 64 plate could someone please advise or recommend anyone. Thank you in advance.
 
Need the log of the error to advise.

Depending on your regular driving routine (if more short + lower speed journeys) and the info shared here so far.

It's likely that your DPF and/or ERG are at least partially blocked, so, need to be removed and professionally cleaned (this has become common, as well as repeatable depending on the driving routine and mileage).

Also, if either were fully blocked you'd know about it as some have needed recovery for the same not allowing the engine to run.

Personally, I'd address this with a specialist sooner rather than later and hopefully, the existing parts are still reusable.

Of course, there is a more extreme school of thought on DPF and ERG systems that recommend having them removed completely.

Having experienced all of the above to various degrees over the years, I'm almost tempted to petrol even for higher mileage with a lot less to spectacularly fail (wink)
