Help with iTunes

A stupid question from a non-techie.
I have downloaded iTunes from the Apple site
It says 'thank you for down loading' now install - the install icon does not work and there is no shortcut to the programme
Any help (constructive !!) would be appreciated.

head here http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and click on download again, when the window for download pops up click save not run, save it in My Documents, then run it from there.
